The Irishman- Scorese is coming
The Irishman story of Frank Sheeran who maintains ties with the Bufalino crime family and claims to have killed fellow Teamster Jimmy Hoffa has a director and cast that should bring us all out to the movies to see.
What can I say? Martin Scorese, Robert DiNiro, Al Pacino in the same line?!
Add alittle Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel - you have a movie that brings the tough,
hard sided, don't mess with me back to the big screen. Well, the BIG screen for a short time. Netflix put $104 million into the Oscar and our beloved Director whose love of filmmaking and creativity is one of a kind. Add to the mix the actors whose careers have spanned decades and brought many hits and I'd book my money on this too. Endorsing a man whose love of film and history like a religion, we are all sure he demanded his works be given BIG screen attention before succumbing to only online. Scorese has done many works for online consumption and endorsed series for HBO but his pet projects are not just for the money or fame game- his allegiance to film is show it 'the way it needs to be shown', then go to the other ways. That philosophy is how the Academy looks at it too and one that I agree with wholeheartedly.
This upcoming American biographical crime film directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Steven Zaillian is based on the book "I Heard You Paint Houses" by Charles Brandt.
It has been a passion project of Martin Scorese for some time.
"Frank Sheeran is a World War 2 veteran and a former hitman for the mob. His time spent during the war in Italy made him a talented killer. To make ends meet, Frank utilizes his skills to become a hitman for the mob. Now in his old age, Frank reflects back on the moments and hits that defined his mob career. Especially his role in the disappearance of his old friend Jimmy Hoffa, a former president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters that went missing in 1975, never to be seen again."
Here's the trailer they posted today. Enjoy- we are!
